Everyone can benefit from doing pelvic floor muscle exercises.
They are very very useful for women who’ve just had a baby. Maybe about four to six weeks after having a baby, some of the symptoms of delivery (difficulty with not being able to hold back water or having to rush to the toilet) might persist. In which case, doing your pelvic floor exercises three times a day can help reduce those symptoms.
Also men who’ve had prostate operations for cancer that might have some leakage as well. They might find that doing their pelvic floor exercises three times a day can help them get dry quicker.
Women who’ve gone through the menopause, as well. They might find they have a sensation of heaviness downstairs. Something like bulge, or a lump in the wrong place, or a tampon in the wrong place.
Doing your exercises for three months (at least) three times every day can really help to improve that that sensation. And get rid of it in most women.
Women who’ve gone through the menopause, all the way through to the other side, may find they are having some new leakage. Either from their front or back end. They can also really benefit from doing pelvic floor exercises.
It’s one of those things that’s really easy to do. You should be doing every day when you get started and you just have to keep doing to keep yourself strong.
